Point Foundation: Who We Are: Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has
been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing
support services for predominantly low-income people of color in
the Bayview and throughout San Francisco. Our mission is to build a
community that is empowered, clean, safe, and healthy. We are
focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our
clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and
homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food,
health, economic and housing security. Today, BVHPF’s nearly 200
employees serve over 5,000 disadvantaged clients each year. Our
programs include: • Mental health counseling for youth and adults •
School-based mental health services • Substance abuse counseling
and methadone treatment • Family transitional and supportive
housing • Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs • Case
management services at several homeless and housing programs •
Bayview SAFE Navigation Center These programs are funded through
nearly 20 contracts with the City & County of San Francisco, and
are monitored and regulated by several authorities, including CCSF
and the State and Federal government. Position Overview: The Care
Monitor works closely with onsite staff, providing support and
monitoring of the site to ensure a safe environment for staff and
residents. CareMonitor reports to the House Manager. Lunch must be
on-site with paid lunch period The schedule for this position is
shift-based. Day: 7:00am - 3:00pm Swing: 3:00pm - 11pm Graveyard:
11pm - 7:00am Shifts may change as needed to meet operational
needs. What You’ll Do: Refer any operational, security or client
issues, including de-escalation needs, to the Site Manager. Assist
House Managers with client needs, including; delivering toiletries,
towels, linens, and other items as needed, and escorting cleared
(asymptomatic) clients to their rooms. Engage participants to help
orient them to the hotel site. Deliver meals to participants’ room
doors. Support monitoring the site and reporting violations of
hotel/motel rules and regulations. Prepare participant rooms for
occupancy (e.g., apply mattress covers, pillow covers, stock room
with supplies, etc.). Assist with setting up participant intake
tables. Perform light-duty cleaning and sanitation duties in the
common areas utilized by the staff. May be given other duties in
support of the site management. Flexible and willing to perform
other tasks as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications:
Understanding of substance use and harm reduction strategies
preferred Ability to work well with diverse staff and clientele
including cultural, language, sexual identity, gender, and other
diversity considerations. Ability to work successfully both
independently and cooperatively. Ability to speak, read, and write
clearly in English. Ability to successfully and efficiently
complete tasks in an environment with background noise and
interruptions. Record keeping and confidentiality. All information
seen/heard at an emergency housing site is CONFIDENTIAL. This
includes the site name and address, and any information about
guests or staff. Sign in and out daily. Complete the Activity Log
form for every shift. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the
city and state political and community service environment (e.g.,
community service leaders, partners, organizations, critical
state-wide community service needs, legislative leaders, government
officials, major stakeholders, etc.). Previous government
relations, non-profit, and grassroots organizing experience is
strongly preferred. Non-profit experience working in local or state
government is preferred. Additional Requirements: Standard office
setting with occasional travel for site visits, meetings, and
conferences. May require occasional evening and weekend work to
meet deadlines or attend events. At least two COVID-19 vaccinations
(preferred). Regular and reliable job attendance.? Valid
California’s Driver’s License (if duties require). Effective verbal
and written communication skills. Exhibit respect and understanding
of others to maintain professional relationships. Independent
judgment in evaluation options to make sound decisions. Live Scan
fingerprinting, TB clearance and other medical vaccinations may be
