A 300 bed San Francisco Bay Area Medical Center is actively
seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator Medical Surgical Oncology
Services, to join their growing healthcare organization.
The Clinical will report to the Director of Nursing Education
and will provide education, while also teaching best practices
throughout the Medical Surgical and Oncology unit.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will focus on the following:
orientation, competency program, in-service education, continuing
education, career development / role transition and research.
The hospital is looking for a Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse
Leader (CNL), or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to help
orientate its new nurses and provide continuing education to
experienced nurses as well as participate in community outreach. A
large function of this role will be to provide education to
hospital staff, including nurses, technicians, and other personnel
who come in contact with inpatient Oncology, Neurology and
Additional responsibilities include:
- Models as a subject matter expert, change agent, coach/mentor,
and facilitator of higher education.
- Identifies education/training needs and establishes programs
with measurable student objectives.
- Supports the education and training needs of procedures,
patient types, new equipment and respective documentation of
clinical intervention. Solicits feedback through patient rounds,
assessment of patient progress and communication with staff.
- Assists in the facilitation of nursing orientation.
- Will review, revise, develop, and administer curricula for
approved clinical and non-clinical programs based on best practice,
trending of benchmarked data
The Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator will assess the learning
needs of the Oncology unit nursing staff and will develop and
implement evidence-based education programs for all Cancer Center
unit related needs. The Medical Surgical Oncology Clinical
Educator will work closely with unit doctors and nurses.
