Position Summary...What you'll do...Creative Director, Copy Ever find yourself copyediting the social media captions of influencers? Wake up at 4 AM with an idea for a subject line A/B test? Cant help but notice when an ad buries the most important info in the subtext? Then we want to talk to you.In this role, youll be responsible for leading, evolving, and governing the creation of compelling, customer-centric copy that engages customers, promotes purchases, and elevates perception of the Walmart brand. Youll also concept campaigns, develop a team, and act as a strategic thought partner. Personnel and relationship management is required, so a high EQ is a big plus.Essential functionsCreative asset development:Oversee creative process for complex projects/project portfolios, from development and intake of creative brief through asset production and management, across internal cross-functional teams and external partners.Brand management:Oversee execution of the brands tone of voice and govern how it comes to life across a variety of channels (e.g., website, print, omni campaigns, social media, videos, scripts, ads, packaging, etc.).Lead the evolution of the voice and style guide and socialize updates with internal partners and external agencies.Spearhead efforts of the Naming Council, the body responsible for governing the naming architecture throughout the enterprise.Innovation and strategy:Lead the development and implementation of creative strategies aligned to customer experience. Drive continuous improvement and innovation by identifying and adopting industry trends.Pitch ideas for new campaigns, products, platforms, and more.Project management:Monitor progress and ensure the team is delivering on time and on par with business needs and creative quality expectations.Capable of quickly shifting gears and mobilizing the necessary team members to support the execution of quick-turn requests in a fast-paced environment.Budget management:Provide strategic financial management recommendations in partnership with Creative Operations.Operate in line with our EDLC (everyday low cost) mindset, identifying opportunities to maximize efficiencies and output.Collaboration:Develop and foster relationships with cross-functional partners and stakeholders, as well as support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.Clearly communicate goals and objectives, build accountability and measure progress, demonstrate adaptability, and promote continuous learning and improvement.Team and people development:Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members via training, workshops, constructive feedback, stretch assignments, support, and recognition.Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.What you need7-10 years of copy leadership experienceExperience managing large groups of creativesBackground in copywriting or editorial developmentAn understanding of the social media landscapeA visionary mindset, always in pursuit of whats nextAbility to inspire and motivate a large teamMinimum Qualifications...Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.
