Hadoop Application Developer - Permanent PositionOur client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of metal components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 13th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in "Automotive News." A growing and vital company, client provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.Title: Hadoop Application DeveloperType: PermanentResponsibilities:

• Design, implement and deploy custom applications on Hadoop.
• Troubleshoot production issues with Hadoop/NoSQL.
• Performance tuning of a Hadoop/NoSQL environment.
• Design, implement and deploy ETL to load data into Hadoop/NoSQL.Note: This position requires 100% travel and reports to the Operations Lead.Desired Skills:
• 1 - 4 years of experience building Java applications.
• 1 - 4 years of experience building and coding applications using Hadoop components - HDFS, HBase, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, etc.
• 1 - 4 years of experience coding Java MapReduce, Python, Pig programming, Hadoop Streaming, HiveQL.
• 1 - 4 years of experience implementing relational data models.
• Minimum 1 year understanding of traditional ETL tools & RDBMS.
• Minimum 1 year of experience developing REST web services.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.
• Industry experience in financial services, resources, healthcare, government, products, communications, or high tech.
