Contract Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM - 6:45
AM; every other weekend (EOW) required; rotating holidays;
self-scheduled with manager finalization; travelers are often first
to float between SICU and TICU Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay

Roles & Responsibilities Deliver high-acuity critical care to
surgical and trauma ICU patients with empathy and precision Manage
ventilators, interpret telemetry/EKG strips, and provide
ventilator-associated care Perform and support advanced therapies
including CRRT, ECMO, and rapid infusions when indicated Care for
postop vascular and thoracic surgical patients (CEA, fem-pop,
EVARs, laparotomies) and complex trauma cases Collaborate in
interdisciplinary rounds and coordinate care with intensivists,
hospitalists, RT, pharmacy, and support teams Document accurately
and efficiently in Cerner EMR, ensuring continuity of care and
compliance Act as a reliable float resource across Sacramento
facilities when census requires, putting patient safety first
Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — license to
submit required Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience
(ICU/critical care/telemetry preferred) Current ACLS and BLS
certifications; NIHSS required TNCC and trauma experience preferred
for TICU shifts Comfortable with ventilator management,
EKG/telemetry interpretation, and high-acuity post-op care Ability
to work rotating nights, every-other-weekend schedule, and float as
needed Education Diploma/Associate of Nursing or BSN accepted (BSN
not required) Knowledge & Skills Proficient in Cerner EMR charting
and documentation Telemetry/EKG interpretation and arrhythmia
recognition Ventilator management and critical respiratory care
Experience with CRRT, ECMO, and line placement care Strong
assessment, prioritization, and crisis management skills Teamwork
and clear communication during interdisciplinary rounds and
