Job Summary


This is a 50% Contract Position with a 1 year end date

Direct and oversee all medical care rendered to patients within the Pediatric Emergency
Department while on duty. Clinical effort will be split between different DEM clinical sites
depending on departmental need. Supervise the clinical care, procedures, charting, and interactions
with patients and staff by residents, interns, students.

The position requires a license to practice medicine issued by the California Board of MedicalExaminers and Board Certification in Pediatrics.

Department Description

Emergency Medicine is a broad field and our faculty have a number of clinical and research interests. Areas of existing research expertise within our new department already include cardiac arrest, pre-hospital EMS care (including strokediagnosis and management), ultrasound diagnostic techniques, health policy (especially ED crowding, ambulance diversion, utilization of the ED by indigents, and health disparities), procedural sedation, infectious disease management.


Required Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine AND Pediatrics OR Board Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
  • Requires possession of a license to practice medicine issued by the California Board of Medical Examiners
  • Current DEA certification
