This position holds accountability for supporting Network Manager (NWM) and Business Contact (BC) role development and integration into the Paradigm culture and clinical practice environment. The Clinical Preceptor functions as a clinical practice subject matter expert and mentor in guiding and directing the clinical practice activities of new team members. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize Paradigm standard precepting tools and processes to mentor and guide new and current Network Managers and Business Contacts to meet the essential functions of the role, understand Paradigm's culture, practices, policies and procedures, and meet clinical practice objectives. Provide oversight of all preceptee activities, call participation, and review all documentation prior to submission to Paradigm. Facilitate catastrophic cases to ensure timely quality-based work consistent with requirements and organizational standards. Includes the following oversight responsibilities during the precepting period: billing appropriateness, report timelines, report content, QA metrics and customer feedback. Provides virtual and/or in person clinical training sessions for assigned NWM or BC preceptees. Plan and structure learning activities and opportunities to meet intended learning and development needs of assigned NWM or BC preceptees. Serve as a resource by guiding new and current Network Managers and Business Contacts to appropriate resource materials and clinical practice management. Monitor time management and productivity of assigned NWM or BC preceptees. Provide valuable feedback from training and mentoring sessions to support role development of assigned NWM or BC preceptee. Perform on-going assessment and regular evaluation of assigned NWM or BC preceptee to ensure critical skills acquisition. Document performance observations for assigned preceptees in a timely manner and submit recommendations to supervisor. Coordinates shadowing activities for new NWMs or business contacts as needed to facilitate learning. Work collaboratively with all team members. Partner with education specialists, operational leaders and cross-functional business partners to provide clinical practice subject matter expertise to support the learning and development needs of assigned preceptees and operational business needs. Contribute to the development of continuing education content and learning materials for Network Managers /Case Managers. Assist with the management of continuing education programs and content. Regularly participate in meetings, requiring close interactions with various stakeholders to develop advanced level knowledge in organizational processes, and applications. May serve in the NWM role for a small number of patients. Incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion into all mentoring and coaching activities. Attends all Paradigm required training. Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education - Bachelor's degree in Health related field preferred. Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) preferred with active, unrestricted licensure. Experience - Minimum 7 years of experience in the management of catastrophic injury and chronic pain conditions, demonstrated knowledge of case management services provided for catastrophically injured individuals with CCM certification required. Thorough knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, standards of care for catastrophic diagnoses, case management, public and private resources required. Prior experience with mentoring, skill development, and teaching the adult learner. Language Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to simplify complex material for training and utilize negotiation/conflict resolution skills to resolve issues. Computer Literacy- Intermediate computer skills including working knowledge of the Internet, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and other tools/programs utilized for distance learning and webinar presentations. Reasoning Ability - Ability to learn new processes quickly. Ability to analyze workflow and make recommendations for changing processes (e.g., simplifying) as appropriate. Legal - Awareness of jurisdictional regulations impacting patient care management, confidentiality and return to work.
