group of dermatology and cosmetic surgery centers with 11 medical
practice locations across Northern California (including Los Altos,
Fremont, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Placerville,
Cameron Park, Roseville, Tracy, Yuba City, and Sacramento). Founded
in 1993 by Dr. David Berman, a board-certified dermatologist, BSI's

provide patients with the best possible dermatologic care. As one

offerings, including medical and surgical dermatology (including

Medical Assistant position working Back Office is the first point
of contact for our patients, patient family members, physicians,
and other clinic staff. We are in search of a customer service
superstar with both excellent communication and clinical skills.
The position is full time and fully benefited. Collecting and
updating patient insurance and demographic informationVerification
of health plan eligibility Scheduling patient appointments using
EMRManage multiple phone lines Serve as a patient advocate during
patient exam and treatmentRoom patients to examination rooms,
procedure rooms or operative rooms and prepare them for the
physicianRecord patients' medical history, medications, allergies,
vital statistics and information such as test results in medical
recordsEnsure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing
a patient for treatmentPrepare and administer medications as
directed by a physician following safety protocol of right dose,
right patient, right route, right drug and noting expiration
dateExplain treatment procedures, medications, diets, wound care
instructions and physician's instructions to patients, including
suture removal/steri-strip applicationHelp physician examine and
treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or
performing such tasks as giving injections and removing
suturesUnder physician direction, authorize drug refills and
provide prescription information to pharmaciesPrepare and clean
exam rooms and medical equipment in between each patient and at the
end of the daySet up rooms and assist providers with surgical
procedure while maintaining sterile fieldAssess the patient's
condition throughout the exam, procedure or surgery according to
the facility's policies and notify providers and RN of any
indication of distressCorrectly disposes of infection waste and bio
hazard materialsSchedule appointments for patientsChange dressings
on woundContact medical facilities or departments to schedule
patients for tests and/or admissionInventory and assess the need
for instruments, supplies and equipment while keeping the room
stockedPerforms accurate documentation of all procedures in a
timely manner Assist physicians in patient, employee, or visitor
medical emergencies and ensure proper documentation per facility's
policyInventory and order medical emergency supplies monthly and
ensure all equipment is in proper working orderAdheres to all
policies and procedures in performing job duties and
responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and
great customer servicePerforms other duties as
neededREQUIREMENTSTwo (2) years' experience in an outpatient
setting as a Medical Assistant in back office. High School diploma
or equivalent.Love what we do! Think Dermatology is very, very
cool. Perhaps you have a drawer full of skin care products at
home????Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer
service skills are essential.Have a sense of humor. This is
essential. Everyone should laugh a little bit everyday. Have life
set up so you can some to work everyday reliably and on time. Don't
worry, you get paid time off too to play and vacation but when
scheduled, we need to know you are going to be there, Keyboarding
skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software
are required as is experience with other types of standard office
equipment.Communicate effectively in the English language in
person, on the phone, & in writing.Must be available to work
Saturdays
