Job Description:The Medical Assistant Specialty Clinic Outpatient Specialty Center (OSC) is part of a multi-disciplinary team providing consistent quality care to our patients. The Medical Assistant (MA) works with the nurses, the physicians, and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties, in the "Front Office" or "Back Office" at the OSC. The MA also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department, including gathering, organizing, and documenting healthcare data information. The MA will be responsible for answering and routing patient calls, scheduling of patient appointments per department guidelines. The medical assistant reports directly to Director or Manager within the Specialty Clinic area at the OSCEducation:

• Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited RequiredExperience:
  • 1 year Ambulatory Preferred
  • 1 year Electronic Medical Records (EMR) PreferredCertifications/Licensures:
    • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Certification Required
    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Preferred or
    • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant Preferred and
    • Specialty areas may have additional requirements
    • Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) PreferredSkills:
      • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
      • Bilingual preferred.
      • Completion and documentation of California requirements with demonstrated competency for venipuncture/phlebotomy - Preferred (required for specific departments)Work Shift:08.0 - 07:30 - 16:00 No Waive (United States of America)Pay Range:$27.54 - $37.19HourlyOffer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting.
