Payroll Specialist

- Processes multiple client payrolls and acts as the point of
contact for Client payroll needs.
- Payroll Processor/Specialist will be responsible for processing
semi-monthly and bi-weekly client payrolls. The Payroll
Processor/Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all payroll
checks are processed timely and accurately.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily payroll department operations, works directly with
data processor to coordinate various phases of the payroll
process.
- Ensure accuracy of payroll records by maintaining database with
updates in status changes, tax withholdings, benefits deductions,
time off accruals, etc.
- Review, analyze and check payroll reports for accuracy and make
necessary adjustments or corrections as needed. Reconcile payroll
prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Prepare new clients for conversion from current payroll company
to TWD Payroll, includes setting up employees/employee information,
bank set up for client, and register with Intercept if
necessary.
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
- Prepares correspondence of a technical nature pertaining to
client payroll issues.
- Research, analyze and resolves payroll issues with clients and
clients' staff.
- Acts as liaison with company staff, partners in answering
questions, providing alternatives and facilitating
decision-making.
- Coordinates schedules and conducts training sessions for
department staff, explain payroll policies and procedures, state
and federal regulations and laws.
- Coordinates and interacts with federal and state agencies on
behalf of the client.
- Process payroll documents in accordance with existing policies
and procedures.
- Process state and federal quarterly returns thru year-end W-2,
W-2c, etc.
Qualifications:
- AA Degree in Business or Accounting, or other similar degree
- 1 - 3 years of payroll processing experience working with
multiple entities
- 1 - 3 years bookkeeping experience in a tax environment
helpful
Skills:
- Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws, and overtime
requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme
discretion
- Excellent problem solving/judgement skills, and high level of
attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organization skills, and the ability to work under
pressure
- Demonstrate good judgement, approachable and professional

- Our office location is at 165 Lennon Lane in Walnut Creek in the
Shadelands Office Park Area
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $19.00 - $29.00 per hour
