Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church (WCPC), a diverse, growing church on a 5-acre campus in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek near BART, is looking for a part time bookkeeper.--Join a staff that is committed to healthy collaboration and having fun together while working with joint purpose, verve, and dedication.------Job SummaryMaintain--accurate financial records of the church.-- Tracks all income and expenses, produces financial reports, oversees payroll and benefits, interacts with church members, and provides some office management support.-- 24 hours/week, Monday-Thursday, 9am - 4pm.-- This is not a remote-work position.--Key ResponsibilitiesPerform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner--Administer company employee benefits programsConduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis--Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner--Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments--Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition--Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data--Administer budget reports--Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards--Preparation of business compliance forms: IRS Form 1099-NEC , Business Property Tax, W-2s, and giving statements--Maintain employee paperwork/filesFinance volunteers managementRespond to inquiries from the congregationOther duties as requestedWCPC staff valuesCharacter- exercises what Christians refer to as the fruit of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-discipline.Culture - Recognizes that creating and cultivating healthy staff culture is crucialChemistry - Gets along with and genuinely loves being around the staff teamCompetency - Possesses skill and passion for the workCapacity - Has the integrity to work hard without under/over working--Qualifications3-5 years relevant experience working in accounting and/or full-charge bookkeeping.----Experience with payroll, AP/AR, and general ledger.Experience with church or non-profit finances, working with designated and restricted accounts, a plus.Proficient skills in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables a plus)Knowledge of ApprovalMax, Bill.com, APS payroll, desired but not requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to manage confidential information--Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.-- PM22Powered by JazzHRPI197534972
