Job Description: Rx Refill Specialists ensure the timely processing of chronic medication refills by completing accurate prescription refill request processing and prior authorization processing (if applicable). The Refill specialist functions within the guidelines outlined in the John Muir Physician Network (JMPN) chronic medication Standardized Procedure and protocols. Job Description Education:

• Completion of Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse Program - Required Experience:
  • 3 years Medication refill and prior authorization processing - Required
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) - Required Certifications/Licensures:
    • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
    • Pharmacy Tech - California Board of Pharmacy - Required or
    • Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants required or
    • LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse - California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians - Required Skills:
      • It is a requirement of this position that the employee be available to work some weekend shifts based on operational needs but a minimum of one weekend shift per month may be required.
      • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
      • Typing and computer proficiency skills - Required Work Shift: 08.0 - 08:00 - 17:00 No Waive (United States of America)Pay Range:$31.89 - $43.05 Hourly Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
